Usually when I mention diabetes to someone they say, “do you have the bad kind?”
So, being asked what type I have, doesn’t actually come up much.
But, when I do answer this question, I just say that I have Type 1 Diabetes. That is what I was diagnosed with and that is what I have. It’s what my medical records say.
Now, how do I really feel like answering?
Simple.
The image below shows you what type of diabetes I have.
I have the type of diabetes that requires me to:
- check my blood sugar
- count carbs
- take insulin
- wear a CGM
- pay a lot for supplies
- stress
- anxiety
- a 24/7/365 job of managing my diabetes
- doctor appointments
- blood work
- a lot more
So, that’s the kind of diabetes that I have.
I have the bad kind. Oh wait, all diabetes is the bad kind. Well I better think about it more.
