Caring Diabetic Online Community

Over the last few days, even months if we go back a little further, it has really dawned on me how caring and how awesome the diabetic online community is.  I have been dealing with an issue with CVS pharmacy this past week and so many of you on Twitter and commenting on my blog were really helpful and gave some great advice.  The advice was great, but what was even more awesome was how willing everybody was to send me strips because I was in a bad situation with not having any.  Several people sent me e-mails and asked if I needed them to send me strips.  You know who are you for those that did.

I am part of a few other online communities and we help each other with information about how to do something in WordPress or some new social media tips or affiliate tax information, but I haven’t had anybody ever ask me if I needed them to send me testing strips or something else to help me manage my diabetes or my business, anything.

I just want to take this time quickly and say thank you.  Thank you to all of you.  And that is it.

Thanks.

  1. It’s the wonders of a caring community. It’s so nice, isn’t it? I’ve had the same type of offers to me before when I was in similar situations. 🙂

  2. I am looking for a person(S) who are positive, upbeat, and devoted to making their diabetic life as normal as possible. I’ve noticed that when I do this, I am much more in control of everything in my life. I guess I must be part ZEN, part Buddha because I tend to believe that peace, calm, comfort, contentment are all part of healing the soul and the mind. Comfort doesn’t come from material things, but comfort with myself and my surroundings.

I agree it is wonderful to have a community that is supportive, caring and giving. It is wonderful to have a place to come when the trials and mundane of testing, eating, exercising and life in general get you down. I so appreciate my diabetic friendships, maybe even more so that the friends I can touch every day.

If you are wanting to form a friendship of positives, upbeativeness, please write me, I’d love to hear from you.

  3. The DOC is such an awesome home-away-from-home, isn’t it? And you know the best part? They/we are here 24x7x365. 🙂 Thank YOU for jumping in and joining the family!

  6. Hi all,

I am new to this site but not to diabetes. I was diagnosed 5 years ago as a severe diabetic and was on high doses of 2 different insulins and 2 different oral tablets before finally deciding to undergo surgery.
10 months ago I had a sleeve gastrectomy and since then I have not had to take any meds for diabetes at all and have lost 30 kgs so far. I have numerous other ailments as well but cope as best as I can.

I also ghost write articles for a client who publishes them on various websites and have written around 170 articles so far. I also write an ebook about my journey before and through the surgery.

I wish you all good health and long life.
