Drop Dead Fred – Drop Dead Diabetes

Posted by Chris on May 28, 2010 in Uncategorized | 0 comments
Last night I watched the movie Drop Dead Fred.  The reason that I watched it was because my girlfriend and her brother were talking about old school movies that they liked and this movie was mentioned.  I vaguely remembered any of the movie, just a few parts that when they happened I said, oh yea I remember this part.  I was a young kid when I saw this movie, probably around 10 or so and I know I liked it, I just couldn’t remember why.  Now I remember.  That movie was so perverted and so dirty in language, that as a kid, I thought it was awesome that people were saying those...

It’s An Insulin Pump, You Idiot!

Posted by Chris on May 26, 2010 in Diabetes Awareness, Insulin Pump Problems | 7 comments
How many times have you heard yourself use this phrase, or something close to it?  Sometimes I use words a little more intense then idiot.  I don’t like to call people idiots because you don’t know there education background and where they grew up.  So  they may have never heard of diabetes, I know I knew nothing about it before I was diagnosed.  But there are times when people just piss me off about it. Last week when I went to a country concert and was patted down because God forbid you actually sneak in some liquor instead of paying $12 for one beer.  He felt the insulin...

Did I Mention I Hate Moving?

Posted by Chris on May 25, 2010 in Uncategorized | 0 comments
Moving is fun, but it also sucks at the same time.  I was in a living situation over the last few months that wasn’t very convenient.  I moved out of the townhouse I was living in for over a year back in December and moved into my girlfriend’s house for what was supposed to be about a month or two until the condo they were looking to purchase was closed on.  However, there was a huge mess with it being a short sale and after 90 days, the bank declined the offer so the search was started all over.  Finally my girlfriend’s brother, my roommate, found a condo and he just...

Few Questions for the DOC

Posted by Chris on May 24, 2010 in Uncategorized | 2 comments
My diabetes guest post week is going to be starting next week.  Diabetes Blog Week was so good and there were so many people participating that I had to take all of last week off of blogging and catch up on all the reading.  I also had some serious work to catch up on, but it seems that as soon as I catch up on work, it creates more work, hmmm… anybody else feel like that? I have a couple questions that I’d love to get your feedback on. First, I sent out a tweet the other day about a diabetes referral resource.  I want to know if anybody is interested in using something like...

Diabetes Blog Week Day 7 – Wish Upon a Star

Posted by Chris on May 16, 2010 in Uncategorized | 3 comments
The first day after the cure would be, weird.  I think that is a pretty good word to sum it all up.  The first thing that I would do is open up my supply cabinet and take a garbage bag and start throwing all that junk away.  I would not keep a single thing to remind me of diabetes, because I have enough memories of it already, so I don’t need anymore physical memories.  Next thing that I would do is probably go and buy the largest Carvel Ice Cream cake out there and just dominate it, like seriously do work on it and finish the whole thing. I would also go to the beach and run full...
